It's my 5 year wedding anniversary later this month. The traditional gift is wood. So I said I wanted wood for my new set up tank. I was thinking driftwood but just spotted some interesting Bonsai trees. Does anyone have one in their tank & can share pics & recommendations?

I'm sorry Ally, but I'm too busy sniggering (I have a very bad mind) d:D

Can you grow bonsai underwater? I had a lovely non-aquatic one, but it just suddenly died andI don't know why.

The bonsai trees are really cool - the ones that have started popping up in stores are quite manufactured when you see them up close its often a sanded piece of wood with branchy twigs attached. Very convincing and when underwater and planted with something like Java Moss it will look very effective. They are expensive though!

Not sure if they can ship to Ireland but it would be worth getting in touch if they dont do it as standard.

Just had a look at that link - they look really nice!

So - I also had a look at the livestock. There is a Red Nerite snail! It has a "GO FASTER" stripe on it! IT IS MY DREAM SNAIL!:wub::wub:

Thanks for the link. I was watching YouTube video where he broke up moss balls and spread them across and it actually looked really good. I like the pagoda style cause I can make it look like a real tree & that can really inspire my Aquascape. My tank is only 12" high though so I'll have to be careful with that.

I think it'll be nice as an anniversary gift & a nice focal point to the tank.

Maybe it was a miniature kamikaze tree.

It's just fancy driftwood you stick stuff too  but it looks nice. I ordered a large pagoda bonsai and will use Christmas moss. Should arrive today or tomorrow so I'm very excited. This will be a challenge though as I'm not a patient person. More explosive energy burst. The plus side of ordering a tank that's taller than expected is the tree will sit nicely in it. I have some stone and hoping to slope my extra sand to create a hill. Must google first.
