Getting This Tank Clean Problem?

Basically we didn't have enough gravel to cover the bottom but I washed my hard but my step dad got the gravel from bag and poured it straight into tank (no fish in busy maturing it) how do I go about cleaning this disturbing the gravel makes it go in air but then settles again?

The gravel should have been washed in a bucket with lots of water poured over it and stirred up until the water ran clean before you added it to the tank.

You have 2 options, you can either give it a really good gravel vac if you have already bought one and keep doing this until you get it clean replacing the water. of course this will slow down your cycling of the tank. Or you can take it all out, clean as above and start from scratch.

Just scoop the gravel into a bucket with whatever you have handy. After that you could go outside and rinse the gravel in the bucket well and return it to the tank. If you are allergic to tank maintenance, find a friend or acquaintance that likes fish and is willing to do the work needed to have a nice tank. They will really appreciate any effort that you put into getting the right equipment in the first place. I am personally a very lazy fish keeper so I focus on doing the most that I can with the least effort but I don't hold back on what really needs to be done. The end result is that my fish provide me with a lot of pleasure for not too much effort but my wife thinks that I am constantly fiddling with the tanks to care for them. I guess it is a matter of perspective. Many of the new fish keepers on this forum do a lot more maintenance than I ever would consider reasonable. We each approach this in our own ways.

im just keep disturbing the gravel and filters are working and doing water changes seems to be doing the job?

But the junk thats making the water cloudy needs REMOVING from the tank... letting the filter do the graft is not only a cop out, its probably damaging the filter

I'd agree with fellow posters. The simplest, easiest way to extingusih this problem is to take the gravel out and run in a bucket under a hosepipe, shouldnt take long.
