I am surprised you even got the loaches yet since people here sdaid to wait until the tank was cycled first....chances are you loaches allready had a mild dose of ich and sdding them to a tank with ammonia and nitrites is just asking for trouble....unfortunately, and it has taken me a long time to realise this, patience is absolutely essential when it comes to fish.....the rewards will be boundless...healthy fish and tanks and no disease.
That said, good luck with your clowns, they certainly are delightful fish....mine actually pick on the more aggressive electric yellows (cichlids)!! And so much for them hiding...mine are the first to come to the front of the tank when I go near
It is often a good idea to under dose scaleless fish when treating with medications. It is also true that any ammonia or nitrite will stress the fish which reduces the reactivity of their immune system, it may take some time.
Well it is now the second day of treatment, clowns are looking happy and healthy, ugly white dots aside. Will continue to administer treatment at 4:30 today. Nothing was fed to them today, do not want to risk spread of bacteria. Temperature has been slowly raised overnight to 86, in order to speed up life cycle of ich. Here's hoping.
Today is the third day of treatment, and still no visible sign of improvement! Heck, it looks worse if anything. How long does it usually take for ich to clear up?
