Getting Rid Of Goldfish Ideas

Ok i have a 60 litre tank with 4 small goldfish in, they're getting to big for it for a start and i want to use that tank as a medic/quarantine tank, My lfs has new policy or rule which is they don't accept fish to be taken back due to them having no idea if the fish are in good condition, so i've asked around if anyone would take them but everyone i ask say i have tropical fish or goldfish are boring so i dont have many options without killing them ( which i refuse to do ), i've thought of finding a goldfish pond in someones back garden or theres 1 at the golf course near me ...if i could sneak them in there would they survive ?

cant you find a friend with a pond, i dont know about the golf course, but the one near me connects to a natural river so it would be a bad idea to introduce a goldfish into the pond in the golf course if it connects to a stream or something. i suppose they could live in a goldfish pond though, i gave my goldfish to a friend of mine when it got to big now its 10 inches long and in a huge pond

If you post a pic on here someone might want them, other than that i'm stumped on what you could do with them, what type of goldfish are they?
I know some Garden centres have 'pond displays' could ask there,

Could wear a big coat and have cups sown into the inside and 'pop' them into the koi vats and get a mate to distract the staff .

this goldfish pond on the golf course is just a big pond , it does have about 100 fish in it but they're used to this cold weather...i've been asking my friends, family and selling them i even put a ad out selling them for free and i got no replies or anything for a month so i need a solution

As KrazyKhuli said, I'd post on here about it in the classifieds section. Someone is sure to take them off your hands. Alternatively, eBay and/or aquarist-classifieds.co.uk might be worth a try.

If you're considering a pond it would be better to do it once the freezing temperatures are over with. Youve had them this long, another 6 weeks or so won't hurt.

i live in the channel islands and i could put them on ebay but would mean i'd have to ship them and all the other stuff that comes with it, they're actually in a breeding tank right now (30 litres) which is cruel right now i only plan to keep them in there for the next few hours thats why i need some quick ideas , i've set the quarantine tank up already and my neighbour orginally said she'd have them then she realized goldfish cant go in tropical tanks which i couldn't quite believe lol so i got them all ready to go and now im stuck with them in a breeding tank with a mini filter

Could you buy a couple of large plastic storage tubs, the type you get from pound stretcher etc? I used those when I bred goldfish, had them all over the place with fry of different sizes in with air pump filters going.

Wrong, they're fine to keep at Tropical temperatures providing it's below 28oC

Depends what type of fish they are though. "Goldfish" is a term that's widely used for all sorts of ornamental coldwater fish these days.

There is no documentation that advises against keeping them in tropical temperatures, they're found all over the world, the only negative effect an increased temperature has is increased metabolism and ultimately waste production. It's the enzymes within the goldfish that are denatured at higher temperatures but anything up to about 28oC is fine.

A pond is still more ideal than a 30 litre tank, heated or not, so I hope you find a new home for them soon Gopro.
