Hi all finally getting my tank this weekend and wondered what else i need so far this is my shopping list

Tank-filter heater lights

Sand

Ammoina

Big bucket

Plants + wood

Test kit

Dechlorinator

I think that should cover it all, have i missed anything off?

nice setup. but ye you will be fine with what you have got there in that list. you going to add ferts for the plants or CO2?

2 big buckets! not just one. (one for clean water, one for dirty water)
and a syphon!

i was planning to add ferts rather than have a CO2 diffuser, thought this would be the best way to keep the tank looking natural, already got that big black box of a filter in there!!

Actually i was thinking about doing a running diary on here when i get going, so you can all see what im doing wrong!

you could just get the glass diffuser that sits neatly beisde the filter. but flourish excel could do the trick

Ye definately get a journal going!

has anyone got a link to a glass difuser so i could have a look at one

is extra CO2 necessary when there are only a few plants?

Absolutely; you can never have enough buckets. Just make sure you mark them 'FISH ONLY'. Get one small net and two large ones - 5/6 inches - it's much easier to 'guide' fish into a large net with another large one.

Oh, and a couple of cheap bath towels will come in very handy!.

depends how many watts per gallon you will have in the tank! Co2 can definately help the plants growth!

Diffusers

If you could find out the watts per gallon and the plants you will have

I found the Python a MARVELLOUS investment. Used it for the first time today and didn't drop a drip :D at £39.99 from here=> http://www.aquatics-online.co.uk/searchres...=s&s=python

They are a very quick service too (UK based). Highly recommended :good:

Yup, couldn't live with out my python. :good: It's especially good for when MTS hits and you've only got about an hour to clean 4 tanks.
