Getting My First Tank Today

Hi all,
Well today i am finally getting a fish tank, it is a 2ft tank and its dimensions are 51CM LONG BY 26CM WIDE BY 32.5CM the tank comes with the following Stand, HOOD WITH LIGHT ATTACHED, HEATER,GRAVEL FILTER- COMES IN BOX, AIR PUMP, BACKGROUND, AIR CURTAIN, PLANT, DRIFTWOOD, HALF A TERRACOTTA POT and 1 LID. the tank also comes with 5 electric yellow cichilids. I really want to get a male betta fish but know cichilids are aggresive. therefore i am going to either spilt my tank in two with a divider or sell my cichilids and get a betta. could i put any other fish in this size tank with a male betta? the following link is pictures of the tank i am getting today

The photobucket link didn't work. You said the tank came with 5 fish. Is the tank a used one and you are moving everything over (thus already cycled)? Otherwise, you will have some cycling issues to deal with.

If you really want the betta, you would need to get a seperate tank. Your tank isn't big enough to divide and leave the cichlids enough room. Actually, at only about 11 gallons, it isn't big enough for the yellow labs on their own. They need at least 30 gallons as they grow to about 5 inches.

hey yeh i dont want the fish but they come with the tank and yes it is a used tank so doesnt need to be cycled as it already has been. i will wait until i sell all these fish than i will buy a betta any suggestions as to any other suitable tankmates for a tank this size?

Bettas are territorial and will chase/nip other fish. I could not keep tetras or rasboras with a betta.

You could have some nice Corydoras with the betta.

Would rehome the labs asap.
