depends on what is in your tank and it depends on the personality of the guppies. I had 5 guppies in a community tank, and even though they are supposed to be community fish, these little devils rolled the rest of my tank like they were the mafia!

They should do just fine. There color should also be brighter then ones in a female mail tank as well. I hope you enjoy your new fish.

If they are alone then I say go for it! They are really fun to watch. Three males should be ok as long as there are no ladies for them to fight over

ok cool sounds good. thanks

1.5 Gallons is too small for any fish. You could get some Cherry Shrimp instead though as they don't need a heater and do best with a sponge filter.

+1

Was just going to say the same thing!! 1.5G is too small for fish. Keep it as a spare hospital tank should any of your other fish get ill.

wait, what?

you have goldfish in a community tank and people agree that three guppies should go in a 1.5 gallon..

NO.

whats the size, stocking and maintenance routine of your 'community'?

shrimp is the only way to go for that 1.5 gal, and paradise, they do need a heater, their optimum temp is 22C.

+1

You could also just keep it as a hospital tank.

P.S. I'm only saying +1 too the hospital tank idea... Not mine as well...

I've been told by a few people on here who keep and breed Cherry Shrimp that they don't need a heater.

P.S. I'm on my phone so I can't quote other people, sorry about that.

they only dont need a heater if the room the tank is in is around that temp.

cherries breed quite prolifically in anything, but they live better in warmer waters. like guppies.

I also can't edit my post so that it makes more sense (basically I can't edit it too say P.S. once instead of twice...), I'm also sorry about that.

I'll ask you hanny, will Cherry Shrimp eat or harm young fry? I was thinking of getting some for my female molly tank but I don't want the fry to be harmed or eaten because I have a selective breeding project going on. The only residents in the tank are 2 Female Mollies and 50+ Fry from both of them.

no not at all, although the mollies and fry will eat any shrimplets as a tsty treat :)

Thank you Delloy, I've had this phone for 2 years but I've only been using the internet on it for about a week
