Getting Free Fish

yea the others are africans and they shouldnt be in a tank with the JD really.

youll need a 55 gallon tank for either a group of malawis (and they need to be kept in a large group or eventually youll jus have 1) or the JD when it gets growing.

Yup top ones a JD and bottom is a jewel cichlid.Jewels are technically african cichlids but should be cared for as a CA cichlid. The africans should really be kept apart.

thanks guys....i decide to get the JD which is what i was hoping it was. i'm gonna get a couple more from my lfs.

again thanks for the help

Ooooh yes, they're definitely one of the more aggressive cichlids. Not as bad as some, but still not the most friendly either lol.

Thanks you, Lisa. :good:

You guys may turn this piranha man around some day. ;)

lol Well, I'll never be without my beloved piranha's that I live and die for but I enjoy learning about cichlids from you guys. There's a wealth of knowledge on this site.

I've mainly kept dovii, umbee, midas, red devil, festae (females when breeding best any other fish out there for coloration, imo), Oscar, flowerhorn and convicts. (oh and many redtail black sharks!) I've had quite a few tanks of Mbuna but never tried to learn them like Ferris and jayjay etc. other than the chipokae.

These other fish that are much talked about here, like Jack Dempsey, I've never had and appreciate learning from you guys. Thanks. :good:

well he was fun while he lasted but he'll be goin to the lfs asap. thanks for the info.....kinda mixed feelings but thanks.

it is a pain i kno but the good thing about fish keeping is theres hundreds of other choices out there so its not hard to find something new!

jus takes some looking and sometimes patience if the fish is hard to find.
