a buddy of mine has a tank w/ 6 cichlids and seeing these active fish actually got me in the mood to get them for my 30g. so i looked around and got some info and yesterday he called me and told me that his tank is overstocked and said i could have whatever i wanted out of it and he would replace w/ what he wanted. our closest fish shop (besides walmart and petco) is about an hour away so fish excursions are few and far between so he is plannin on going up tomorrow and i don't wanna ruin his scedule so i'm gonna let him know what i want today so he can have em out before he leaves. the fish all seem to get along together but i'm not watching them 24/7. there are 2 electric yellows and 3 others. the other 3 need id's. i will reply pics cause i don't know how to put them right in this post  any info on what can fit and what won't get along will be much appreciated.

lemme know if you can see these

this one usually sits under a makeshift cave (about 3 inches long. the pic makes it looks shorter but it is just an angled shot) can be pretty agressive

Oh ok, then it's not a salvini.

Thanks for clearing the colors up for me tho. :)

kinds like JD but the dots are not as close together. maybe it's just a variation?

Yes top one is deffo a female JD, looks exactly like one of mine (I have a pair)

the first is definite a dempsey, at 3" they can still be difficult to sex ( males have full spangle/colour dots, females have dusting of them) but I'd say this one is male if you check out the solid patch of spangles abouve the pectrol fin, a patch this size/consistant would be unusual for a female.

the next three are africans
1 not sure, sorry
yellow is as kribensis12 said a yellow lab, ie Labidochromis Caeruleus

go here

the blue bottom one not really really sure sorry

Top one is definitely a Jack Dempsey. Dunno about the other two - could they be africans?
