i,ve just been reading all the wonderful information on the german rams.
soon as my tank is cycled im getting some.
was at fish shop yesterday, seeing what i can get.
they only sell female blue rams, so i,d have to get some yellow males.
but the blue,s are loveley colours.

You can only get females and I can only get males unless I travel for 2 hrs on the bus system to get females. Which I am not doing. Give me 2 females and I will be happy

The place I go to might have more, people around here doesn't seem to buy them, Everytime I go there, there are always the same ones. I am going to wait until they get more, then go buy some more.

EDIT: I am planning to go get another female, What should I feed them to trigger breeding faster AND THE TEMP.?

Sorry for double posting but, I bought a new female German today (they just arrived and I got first pick)!!! My male was SOOO happy!! He was all COLORFUL and flirting with her. I hope these two will have a SUCCESSFUL batch of eggs. WISH ME GOOD LUCK GUYS! I also moved both of them to a 10 gallon breeding tank. I have 4 ghost shrimps and 4 rasbora het. with them. Should I leave them or take them out.

Also, how are your babies Joeyg2100 I am curious to know. good luck with them.

You should not have any fish in with them. Take them out, especially in a small tank that you have, they will be constantly chasing the other fish away and even eating their eggs. Good Luck.

ok, but when I don't have anyfish with them, they start to hid and not do anything. And what about the shrimp, take them out too.

ok I moved all the living creatures (besides my pair of German ram) out of my breeding tank. But now the syrface for the water is getting cloudy. I have a filter but I put the water level high so that the water comong from the filter won't make a splash and destroy any Co2 from my water. I have Live plants in there. So I can't put any bubblers in either to clear the surface. Is there any other way to clear the surface?

Also, I am getting things ready for when I get some fry. Will I be able to feed the babies liquidfry food? Or what should I feed them?
