German blue rams

not sure what it is live in California we have places that sell purified drinking water & that’s what I used & the water I drink...

what would be the ideal gh for the rams & angel fish??...

These are soft water spcies so ideally they would or should do well in soft or very soft water. However, ther is some adaptability and moderately soft to moderately hard should be OK. Fairly hard is likely to be troublesome.

Bottled water is generally not good for fish; it can contain minerals and salts. It really wold help if you could find out what your local water is so you/we would have a starting point.

Thank you guess I will have to invest in the gh test & I will do my best live in apartments....

But water I do get I fill them up in 5 gal plastic jugs so I’m guessing it is similar to bottled water... would it be better to use tap??

We have not been given the parameters of your tap water so we cannot answer this.

Woke up too 2 of my 7 cardinals dead now would this be because of hardness too maybe?? I am waiting on the test kit for it to come in through amazon since my lfs or Petco didn’t have it :( don’t want anymore fish dying :/

Pictures of the dead fish and the remaining fish?

Do a big water change and gravel clean the substrate now. Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.
If you use bottled water, aerate it for 30 minutes before using it.

Only have the 2 that died today but they don’t look like they have anything wrong...
