iv been looking through topics on here an have seen german blue rams

stunning fish isnt the term

currently in my tank (90 litre bow front)

i have 3 female guppies, 2 male guppies, some guppy fry, 13 cardinal tetras, 7 bronze corys and 1 bn plec.

would a pair 1m + 1f go well in my tank or would they eat / attack the fry / other fish?

cheers

I bought 2 bolivian rams or so I thought. I have them a while now and only found out a couple of days ago that one of them is a german blue ram. There's very little agro with the gb, only to give a little chase to the bolivian every now and then. I have a community tank, it's in my sig. He doesn't bother with anyone. That's my experience anyway.

next question

best place online to buy some? nowhere local to me does them unfortunately :(

Have you got a Pets at Home near you? My local P@H sells German Blue rams, but I want Bolivian rams and they don't sell them

Other than the cardinals they won't go with your other fish due to water parameters and temperature ranges.

I got mine from my local Maindenhead aquatics but ive bought fish from this guy before on ebay

Always arrived alive. I got my 4 platy from him and requested 3 female and 1 male. This is how i keep getting platy fry :)

mine seem fine so far. dont know sexes or anything yet though.

I keep my water at 26 celcius Minnnt. Do you reckon this is suitable? I only discovered a couple of days ago that I had one of each. Am I ok to leave things as they are?
Sorry for the hijack Peter C!

Mine are in with Platys so platys max temp is 25C. My Rams seem fine and swimming happy and stick together.

Just keep and eye on how they are acting. See them as humans we dont all like the same weather

Wht about the dwarf cichlids? The really multicolored ones? Are they soft or vicious little gits?

German blue rams require a temperature of 28-30, bronze cories and guppies prefer 22-24. Cooler water will drastically shorten their lives. Just because they 'seem' fine doesn't mean they are.

This is why research should be done before buying them. Tank bred won't be as sensitive as wilds, but still prefer soft, acidic warmer water. Failure to give them this results in a weaker immune system.

Just my 2 penneths worth, its your tank at the end of the day.
