I have a large 400l tank and am thinking about getting a baby Earth Eater (Geophagus surinamensis). I have read in some places that they are suitable for a community tank and in others that they are very aggressive and not suitable. I only intend keeping one of them so they would not be exhibiting breeding behaviour and the agression that goes along with it. Would it be okay to keep them in a general community esp with clown loaches? I know they sift through the gravel but does anyone with experience keeping these fish know how disruptive this can be? I already have some Kribs in there, would they fight with them?

Yes, they will be fine, but I'd still try to keep them with tough and quick species--they are cichlids afterall. Clowns certainly won't present a problem.
