cheers mate they fine now does anybody now how to sex these fish as there going nuts in the tank at the moment the smallest all of the lot is around 3" and the biggest is say 5ish

Lovely fish. Will calm down a bit once they've settle in I'm sure.

As for sexing them, opinions seem to vary. Some say you simply can't sex them without venting them.

Someone else says "they can normally be sexed around 3 inches, males are normally longer with longer fins and the females are rather short and chubby looking, with smaller short rounded fins, the hump you are looking for, can also start developing at that size, same with the brownish color but sometimes brasiliensis males never develope the hump"

Or ... "The sex is hard to tell as they are similarly colored. The male has a more pointed genital papillae while the female's is blunt and more rounded. The male is larger as an adult and it may also have a longer dorsal fin and show a hint of a bump on its forehead."

so what other stocking should i put in with these any clues there now in my 4ft x2 x2 but getting a trigon for them so wanting some other ideas what to put them with

only thing ive ever kept geos with is sevs and acaras. was generally ok but ,if found once the geos decided to get teritorial , they got too agressive .

I found them to be similar in temperment to the majority of what Green Terrors turn out like, Persistent territorial bully's (but very beautiful), they however do not have the 'bite' of a Green Terror.

Best way to describe them is a oversized Firemouth with a attitude problem.

Mine are smaller than yours and I find it impossible to tell which is male and which is female, the only way for me is the ones with the fatter rounder tummies are female, the male seems leaner. I only found that out when they spawned

so what other stocking should i put in with these any clues there now in my 4ft x2 x2 but getting a trigon for them so wanting some other ideas what to put them with

Mine are shoaling at the mo with my Ellioti? dont know how long they will be happy with them
