Hello,

Anyobody has experience with gel food? Do bettas like it? I'm planning to buy Tetra gel food (brine shrimp). Does the gel pollute the water? Or should I just leave the gel in the package? Do you know what I mean?

Thank you ;)

you mean tetra nature delica? i feed that to my bettas (and all of my other fish)
no it does not cloud the water-anyways they will gobble it up too fast for it to even begin to cloud the water :) i use the bloodworm variety though. never tried the brine shrimp one.
i dont have a single fish that doesnt love that stuff!
too bad its so expensive :-( how much is yours? where did you get it?

Oh that's great news  I didn't buy any yet, at first I want some opinions. I found it at my LFS and it was about 6.50$ Very expensive. But I have just one betta so it's not too bad. I will check Wal Mart. I know they have bloodworms, but I'm not sure if they have brine shrimp. Yes I meant Tetra nature delica ;)

the box says you can feed it everyday in addition to other foods. some of my fish(not my bettas though) eat only that. (flounders and cave tetras)

i would love to find some sort of recipe for that stuff since i go through it so quickly.

My local Wal-mart used to carry it and it was like around $4.39 compared to around $7.00 at my LFS. My Wal-mart hasn't had it for my last two visits though. I hope they were just out of it. You might check in your Wal-Mart pet dept.

I ende up buying frozen brine shripm insted of the gel one. I gave some frozen brine shrimp for Bruce and he just spits it out. Maybe he doesn't like it or just he hasn't got used to the new food? That would be very surprising because he always accepted the new food and ate it.

Or is there something problem with the shrimp?

Is there any betta who doesn't like brine shrimp?:rolleyes

He's for sure not sick, everything is ok with him and he eats the other foods.

Thanks!!

id be careful w/ the frozen shrimp cause i think that caused the death of about 10 of my guppies once i think it made them sick
