Geckos and lizards

I am wondering. I have a bunch of lizards and geckos in my back yard and am thinking of capturing one. I have done it before with great success. But would it be bad if I was to handle it, and pet it or should I not do it.

when I was younger my friends and I used to catch salamanders and lizards around our houses all the time, my mom would never let me keep them because I was too young to care for them but it wont hurt if you pick them up as long as your hands are clean. they are cute little things

not fair to keep one though... it'll be used to living in the wild...

Thats why i prefer tank bread fish

I BELIEVE not positive but a spotted gecko. It was a fun experience and I released him that winter after fattening him up a bit.
