Is this possible? The dimensions of the biocube are L 20.8 x W 19 x H 20.1.
It grows about 7-8 inches so I'm wondering whether there would be enough room in this tank since the total water volume is about 24g. I've read mixed ideas about this.
Also, would I be able to keep a leaf scorpionfish as well? I read that lionfish are good tank mates for leaf fishes. Any ideas?

They are good tank mates, but you're pushing it with the fuzzy dwarf in a tank that size. I mean you CAN do it, but if it were my tank, I would not do it.

So a fuzzy dwarf alone would be fine? Or is it better to go with a fu manchu instead since they stay smaller?

I would have to say no to the Fuzzy Dwarf, They need a minimum 30g tank. The Fu manchu would be a better option as they are much smaller and need a minimum of 20g.
Word of warning though, the Fu manchu are hard to feed, before buying ask to see it feed, some won't eat anything other than live food, don't beleive the LFS that says they eat frozen untill you see it yourself :good: If you can get some live grass shrimp, this would be great :good:
You will need to create lots of hiding places for it.
These are the most shy Lionfish and you will probably only see him after lights out.
But having said that there are always exceptions that proves the rules

Thanks.
Yes, I'm planning on a Fu manchu. Are these ghost shrimp the same as the freshwater ones or is there a different species?

Most shrimp alone will not have much nutrition unless gut-loaded, and then they are as nutritious as the food they've been fed. They can be used to tempt the fish into eating, but any pred will need fish (frozen is best, but you may be forced to go the "otherwise" route with these) for long-term health :good:

IME, Lions can and will eat a lot of Freshwater shrimp, even if refusing live and frozen fish... (Work in a LFS, so see plenty of "fussy eater" Lionfish...)

All the best

just to say if you do get one that eats frozen donnt feed it live food as i hear this can make them fussy

Ok, thanks a lot for the help guys. I've already found a store that has 3"-4" lionfish, so I'd be getting one soon. This tank was set up about an year ago, but I removed all the current livestock including corals into another tank. I rearranged all the liverock (had to keep the rock out of the water for about 3-4hrs), so first I want to check whether the tank will go to a mini-cycle. I'll test the water for the next couple of days to see whether the tank is ready. Hopefully I'd be able to post some pics of the new lion soon ^_^

What type of lionfish does the store have?

I would check that they are what your LFS say they are, mine is selling volitans but it says on the label that they are Zebra's  . So check carefully :good:
Take a book or photo with you if necessary.

It's an online vendor and the lionfish is a Fu Manchu. I'm pretty sure they have what they say that have. :good:
