Future Breeding

Well im happy to say that its time for me to 'attempt' to breed some of my bettas again after my first (second) successful attempt.
From my first spawn I have raised 78 little boys and girls who have just gone 5 month.

I have 7 males suitable for breeding and 12 possible females.
Decision is who to put with who.....

Smudge and Moto for sure with one spawning! Gilbert and Waffle for another! So many options,- but you know that bettaboys said MG's and Marbles seem very popular right now! You may be able to sell whoever we don't buy to them!!

Im thinking of using Bumble first, he has GREAT finnage,probably the best out of my boys and im scared he may be getting too old as he was a import and iv had him a good few month. Maybe with Rusty or Matilda??
Unsure how he will react as he is a VERY VERY VERY strange fish

Smudge X Smidge (sorry nicki), although im unsure of MG X MG colourings, ill have to check that out. Moto back up as Smidge may be a little big for Smudge to wrap

Po needs to grow up a little bit more, spaghetti would eat him

You are likey to get a mixture of colour and pattern types since snorkel has the marble Gene

you could even end up with solids, opaque, butterflies,cellophane or even salamander or a mixture of all 5 is very possible thats the beauty of the marble gene

as for colour more than likely blue, white, hints of yellow, but then again they will change through out the bettas life very rare that a marble gene betta stays the same colour and pattern through life.

Well plans have changed, as they do.
Had a change around in my fish room yesterday to make room for my spawning tanks.

Females are moving to the fries 120Litre grow out tank tonight to start conditioning.

I have chosen

Smudge X Snorkel

Ramble X Shrimp

Other females will be moved as back ups in case these fail.
These are the first 2 spawns ill be trying.
Bumble, Gilbert & Marmite will be in a few months.
