As a teenager, I worked in the LFS Saturdays. We had 3 piranha in a display tank. Never thought twice about sticking my arm in there to tidy up. Freaked some of the customers mind you. Well fed, well cared for piranha is pretty harmless.

I used to keep pirhana (God I miss them) and they are a very skittish fish. the only injury in my house that was due to them was my cat got it in her head that it was a drinking bowl with lots of bubbles to play with and one of them bit a perfect semi cirlce out of one of the pads on her toes.... she is all better now and you can't even tell that she got bit.
