Hi
I hope someone here can give me a answer to a serious problem Im having :hyper:
I have a 48 gal tank with 17 fish
3 silver dollar tetras
4red mollies
3 scissor tail tetras
2 blue grommies
2 zebra nanos
3 cory catfish and 1 pleco catfish
I checked my levels and they are ammonia 0 nitrite 0 ph 7.8 nitrate 10
I lost 3 fish in the last few days and noticed red areas and a moss on them, my other fish seem to be all gathering in one corner
Ive done water changes and used some primamix for fungus treatment. It seems as tho the treatment is not really solving my problem
is there a way that I can tell what kind of disease Im dealing with, and what treatment I need to give my tank to save my fishy life.
Im not sure how to post pics on here if anyone can tell me how and it will help diagnois the problem I will do it on a new post if needed

Is the moss white in colour if so it probably is fungus, pimafix does work but it can take numerous doses. the red areas could be bacterial not sure how effective pimafix is on this. have you removed carbon (or similar resins) from filter as these extract medicines. hope this is of some help i belive ESHA do a treatment that tackles both bacteria and fungus can````t tell you how to post pics can`t do it myself !!!

If the fish are hiding in one corner there could be a water quality issue. Make sure you don't overdose with medication.

to work out the volume of water in the tank
measure the Length x Width x Height in cm
divide by 1000
equals volume in litres.

When measuring the height, measure from the top of the gravel to the top of the water level. If there are big rocks or wood in the tank remove them before measuring the height.

how long have you had the tank up and running? If the fungus as you described it, is white, it could very well be 'cotton', you can pick up meds for it from your local LFS. Just remember to remove your filter and put it aside before you add a med to the water.
