Someone asked me to post full tank shots in my last topic, so here they are! I also got a new tank, 50 gallons, (48" by 18" by 13"). My dad and I made the stand.

Nice space, how many did they have left in the end?

The owner of the store told me he only had a pair left. When i went to the store there were about 5 different gold wolves sepearted over the store in different tanks. I bought the one that seemed to be the best color and had the best body shape. This one is a male, he has a split in his caudal fin, hopefully it will heal. The others seemed to be pale in color, or their body shape looked kinda weird. One looked very healthy, but its caudal fin was very small compared to this one.

Hoplerythrinus, not hoplias. :p
Both of my wolves are different then the hoplias genus. Still related though.

Nice fish but i dont think its a true gold wolf, looks like a Erythrinus species from the picture.

Heres some old pics of the gold wolf i had for comparisson

I'm pretty sure it is...
Yours looks like an ery ery, but the different sp. Basically, the one you just showed me in the pictures is really an erythrinus erythrinus. There are two sp. of ery ery, the one i have, and yours. Both go under the same common name as Rainbow Wolf, or red hi fin wolf. It's pretty confusing. The new fish i have is Hoplerythrinus unitaeniatus, which is a different species. This one never sits on the bottom of the tank, and it is constantly swimming around. It also gets to around a foot in length.
