Hi had a strange thing happen with my dads new tank, hes carrying out a fishless cycle, its been about 3 weeks and we've just netted out 4 baby fish of unkown origin. 2 are tiny. Some plants were taken out of my tank so there may have been eggs from my fish. Amazing they survived as the nitrate nd nitrite are really high as its a fishless cycle, we've now put em in a hospital tank with my tank water which is perfect

Well i got an amazing story too, i decided to change the pea gravel in my tank for smaller size as the dirt was collecting deep down and was hard to shift. So i went to scoop all the fish out into a spare bucket and then took all the plants and ornaments out, grabbed my cup and then scooped all the dirty gravel in the other bucket, at the bottom of my tank i found 1 baby platy that had scuttled accross in front of my eyes!!! Scooped him/her up and put her in a spare glass. relaid all my new gravel and put everything back.

Next morning my mum come in the room and said ' OH LOOK THERES 3 BABY PLATIES IN THAT BUCKET' (one with dirty gravel) i just said 'YEAH MUM OK' but she was serious they were swimming around in a dirty bucket all night, with no heater or food!!! and they survived!!!

TOUGH LITTLE BUGGERS!!!! they survived a gravel clean, and scooping up of gravel and didnt get squashed!!!!

i  my babies
