Frustrating morning

Next time I ship a fish, I'll write LIVE WHALE on the box and see if that makes a difference ;)

After waiting 15 minutes I am informed that fish will explode on a plane and cannot be shipped
Apparently puppies do not explode
My guppies and loaches did fine in cargo when they flew with me for over 4hrs to my new home. Most aircrafts do have pet sections too, with no exploding involved :p .

You poor dear! I really felt bad when I was talking to you earlier today...you sounded so stressed. But don't you worry...when little Shinwa arrives safe and sound (which I know he will), you will be the first to know.

I feel bad for you too!

We're on the phone and sweet Brianns, "hello? :) "

Then me "OMG I AM GOING TO KILL SOMEONE!!!!!!" :X

She took it like a champ even though my stupid phone hung up twice

Do not tell me keiko the whale died......NOOOOOOOO!
I loved that whale :-( :-( :-( I went down and saw him while he was at the Newport Oregon Aquarium.........he is so.....or WAS so........cute!!! :-( :-( :grr:

Sorry about your day Sorrell, sometimes it seems as though fish CONSUME us eh? ;)

According to my fiance, which works for a commercial airline, it was a bunch of crap. The only way that it would happen is if the cargo compartment was not pressurized, but in most instances of cargo flights the cabins are pressurized. The only thing about shipping on a flight would be to make sure that it is climate controlled. With fish being cold-blooded, it would be difficult to fly them in a commercial plane, but when that is an issue, the commercial airlines will call upon 3rd party vendors (ie fedex, ups etc) to ship the pet.

I found this out today and thought it was super cool and thought I'd share with you guys/gals: UPS ships whales! That's how they ship them around the world. TOO COOL!

So, in conclusion, whoever said the fish would explode... well, they're full of it!
Yikes, I wouldn't want to pay THAT shipping bill, haha.

Yeah it's a pain, but for me to ship a good sized box of fish by flight was around $60, but thats not what bothered me. They can't insure them, so whats the point in paying that fee? So they put labels on the box, but they said they couldn't even guarentee ppl would even listen to that!

Well, if they have to ship (like during summers) via 3rd party then most often, if it's a huge airline, they will help make accommodations. I know most airlines have a pet transporting company they use often.
