Hi!
I bought some frozen "micro" bloodworm, daphnia and brineshrimp by the make gamma. I currently have an understocked 60L and a 110L with 2 baby apistos (I was told they were wild but I have no idea how to check) and a single bristlenose that is also quite small 1.5" max. I defrosted a cube and put a small amount of the bloodworm in each tank only to see how big the worms actually are! They're about the same size as the apistos! I currently put the food in a cup of water to defrost it and then put it in but I have no idea how much to put in each tank really.

The apistos only seem to go for it if it moves in the water and not just lay on the gravel which is a bit of a problem because I dont have enough bottom feeders to eat it!

How much of the bloodworm should I put in each tank?
What should I do with the rest of it?
Is it better for me to use the daphnia and brineshrimp as a staple instead?

Thanks.

I would give the bloodworm a try, just a little bit to see if they like it, but use the daphnia and the brineshrimp as their main source of food. If you don't want it to lie on the bottom you can put it in a special cone with a sucker at the height that you want. These cones are made out of plastic and are epecially made to hold (live) worms. In this way you can remove them easily if they don't eat them.

Thanks for replying! I added a little bit more a few hours after feeding them the first time as they seemed to (finally) have eaten most of it, I'm trying to grow them up quite quickly!
I still have about half of the cube left over, I'm guessing I cant leave it over night? What should I do with it?

Do it with caution. It is not uncommon for small plecos to 'choke' on bloodworms.
