I have two frogs, both caught from tadoles from this little drying up puddle. One is a common frog, the other is, well I don't know what the other is. I have them in a little terrarium, but I would like to put them in with more water. Will they eat crickets from the water's surface? If I put them in my aquarium will they was the tetras(bite-sized to the frogs)?

Yes, they would almost certainly eat the tetras :( . I don't know where you are from, but saying where your from and the species involved would help :) .

Because there are lots of species from all over the world that go by the name 'common frog'. The aquarium would probably be too hot for the frogs, but this depends on where you come from. Also the frogs need land to come out on to.

Well common european frog, thats what the very few internet sources say. The frogs are European. I thought about the land, but then I thought, they can breath, so if I get feeding down then I thought I'd be good to go.

I also thought about the aquatic frogs sold as aquarium pets along side fish, so how and what do they get fed?

Frogs might be more aquatic than we are, but unless they're an aquatic frog they're going to get tired of swimming, collapse and possibly drown.

Two species (more or less) of aquatic frogs are found in aquariums. The African Clawed Frog gets big and will in fact eat just about anything in its tank, including others of its species larger than it. The Dwarf African Frog is so teeny it couldn't really eat anything except some fry (and they do just fine off frozen bloodworms). So that answers your second question.

If you are in the UK there are strict rules about keeping native animals - on the whole you are not allowed.

European common frogs need land, as eschaton says if you give them no access to land you will kill them.

If you give us more info on what sort of tank you want to have a frog in maybe we can advise you on which aquatic frog would be better. My advice re: the frogs you already have is keep them how you have them at the moment and release them back into the wild when the weather gets more suitable (depending on where you are) find a nice area where there are other frogs and release them.

*sigh*, another person yelling at me to release them......

No, I'm not in the UK, and I hatched one of the frogs and caught the other from a small tadpole. They're growing just fine, better than they would in the wild, mind you. But thank you for the help. I'll just keep them in their current (and elaborate) terrarium.
