i saw freshwater stingrays in th fish store i work at and loved them. wich brings me here to find out all i can about them before i consider buying one. my questions are: What is the smallest species of ray and tank size required for it? What are the water conditions that, that ray requires? And any other info would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance for the help.

you'll have better luck posting this in the oddballs section

however, pretty much all rays grow to a diameter of 12-16 inches

they require a sand bottom and a tank of at least 6x2x2 feet, which is around 185 gallons.

here's a profile on the Teacup Stingray

Just to point out that there really is no such thing as a "Teacup stingray". It is a name that LFS use on any small ray that is too small for them to identify (like most of them would try...).

But The advice on the profile is good. 4x2x2 absolute minimum, though I would never keep them in anything less than 30" from front to back.

Excellent filtration is necessary as they are somewhat intollerant of nitrates.
