Freshwater Pipefish

Ok well would it wourk if i got an outomatic feeding and set it for like every 3 hours?

And i have been reading up on wild caught seahorses.

How much salt would you have to put in a 27 gallon to make it brackish???

Thanks!!

You cant use automatic feeders for live or frozen food... they wont ever eat flake or pellets...

Cant tell you about the salt, it will vary how much you need as to what brand of salt you use and what species of pipefish you had...

Frozen foods would turn into mush as it defrosted and would stick to the automatic feeder and go rotten, it needs to go straight from freezer to the tank. And it may take months for you to get them to eat froxzen food and not live brineshrimp...

Ok so how would i feed them 3 times a day?

I could ask my mom to feed them when she comes home from lunch.
What kind of food should i feed them?

Ive got Frozen Brine Shrimp. But im guessing they wont be the full diet just a treat for them.

So like copepods?
(sorry if ive spelt it wrong!)

Thanks Guys!!!

I guess you could get someone else to feed midday if they knew what to do... and did it every day...

Artemia and Copepods will be the main diet ali=ong with other small shrimps like mysis and krill when the pipefish are big enough to eat them...

Of course not. Neither the Gasterosteiformes nor the Syngnathiformes include species with much/any interest in dried foods. If you want to keep sticklebacks, seahorses or pipefish, you will need to feed them live or wet-frozen foods. I would recommend against relying on a parent. That's fine for the first week, but eventually they'll have other things to do, and the fish will go hungry. Select species you can adequately maintain yourself.

Cheers, Neale

Would they be able to eat the dried mysis?

ok well its ok for now because im not getting them yet.
Ive still got cichlids in my tank. and my mom wont let me make my 10g brackish
