Well, I was reading Tropical Fish Hobbiest magazine the other day, and I saw something about freshwater tropical eels. It said that some only grew to 4 inches and could be kept in a 10 gallon tank.

It said they were not actually ''eels'' but a type of loach..I think. Does anyone have any more information about these?

I just got 3 khuli loaches tonight. They are quick little suckers! Most of my tank inhabitants didn't know what to think of them. It was cute. The male gourami was like, "What the ...!"

if you et kuli loachs they r cool but eels much bigger up to 39" and litle fish eaters

Yeah, I did read it. :sly:

I am just saying that there are more than one kind of loach that could be considered eel like, especially by the less experienced (shall we say?) petshop worker.

My bigger weather loach was sold to me as an eel!!

:p

I have another question, would a kuhli loach be okay in gravel? Because I heard that they prefer sand, but it would be too late for that. It won't get hurt or anything if it goes in the gravel, right?

I got a freshwater snowflake eel today. He looks exactly like the Salt type except he is brown and white instead of black and white. I don't know how big of a tank you are looking at or what the other inhabitants are, but this guy is really neat!

I think they are ok in it but prefer sand, I have mine in sand. I notice that you said "would a kuhli loach", you would be better with having a few of them if you ever want to see them. I don't know what you current stock level is like but I only see mine at feeding and I have 4.
