Does anybody know where to get detailed info on this species? I have not been able to find much at all. I Esspecially want to know if its spines are toxic. Thanks guys! :good:

:hi:

I may not be much help, but what I do know is that these fish are actually brackish, so you'll get more help in the brackish section. :good:

Batrachomoeus trispinosus as one may be able to tell from the genus name is in Family Batrachoididae, or the toadfishes (Order Batrachoidiformes), so is not a relative of the stonefishes which are renowned for their venomus spines (the latter being of the subfamily Synancinae, Family Scorpaenidae and Order Scorpaeniformes).

The toadfish of the subfamily Thalassophryninae are noted for having a venom delivery system similar to that of the stonefish (though with less potent venom), though I don't believe B. trispinosus is a member of this subfamily.

thank you very much andywg! Where did you find the info? I used the search bar and google  !!
Well, the details on the family details of toadfish I got from fishbase. The stonefish information I already knew, but all of that information is available to you if you have Scott Michael's Reef Fishes Volume 1 (though it doesn't focus much on brackish fish, concentrating on marine species).
