Any informtion on freshwater needlefish. Anybody who has a had a fisrt hand experiance with these fish. just amy info at all really would be good. B)

I used to keep them. Their basic care is no different from any other fish apart from that they are very difficult to feed anything but live fish. They are best kept in a group of at least 3 and require a large tank for their size, a 55 gallon is the minimum id recomend keeping them in, anything smaller and they will smash their beaks against the glass and then starve to death. Dont keep them very active middle dwellers like large barbs and characins as they are easily spooked and when frightened will try to jump often hitting the hood so hard they kill themselves.

i highly dont recomend them unless you have a large tank (i say 90g but ur the mod,) (like he said not very active fish)
