Hi! i was given freeze dried bloodworms as a christmas gift from one person and i am curious to know how much can i feed and how often. i heard that feeding too much high protein foods are bad. the brand of the bloodworms is Mr.aqua and the amount of protein in it is 60% just in case you might have to know. thanks! :)

What fish do you have/want to feed the bloodworms to? For any fish, you shouldn't feed them more than a few worms a day no more than three days a week.

good thing you told me! this is my 3rd day of feeding them those. i feed them to my only aquarium where only the angelfish and the silvertip tetras eat them

You can feed them as often as you like but fish need a varied diet so make sure the fish get other types of food too.

Bloodworms are not a particularly good food, and should only be fed once a week. The frozen are best as they are closest to "live" food.

Freeze dried foods in general are not good because they will get eaten and then, inside the fish's stomach, absorb water and expand, causing intestinal problems. Soaking them thoroughly in water before adding them to the tank is said to deal with this. I went away from all freeze-dried foods, except daphnia, several years ago, but now I do not even feed this since I found the frozen locally.

High quality prepared flake and pellet foods are better nutrition, with frozen (actual frozen, not freeze-dried) foods as a "treat" once a week (if bloodworms).

You must pre soak the dry worms in a spoon full of tank water for about 10 minutes before feeding.

i do feed them 5 types of food including the freeze dried bloodworms. i feed them granules, flakes, they nibble and share the kelp wafers with the whiptail and bottom feeders, and the bloodworms
