I went into my local DIY store to buy a new bucket (woooohoooo!!!! excitement!!!!) and was walking up and down the aisles cos I don't have a life when I saw some really cool wallpaper. Suede effect, in deep blues. Thought "that would make a lovely tank background". Now, they have rolls where you can rip a bit off to take home and see if you like it, so i unrolled 5 feet (just to be on the safe side) and popped it in my bucket. Next aisle along, metallic textured effect dark grey - just like granite slabs.... so ditto.
Thought I might get asked to pay a few pence at the tills, but they were cool! Free backgrounds - can't be bad!
I usually sellotape my backgrounds, but also usually have bubbles etc.... could I use some repositionable spray mount stuff from work to put it on, or would that make the glass opaque?
Or how about this.... sticky backed plastic spread over the wallpaper and extending out a bit further to seal the paper and stick to the tank. would water proof it I guess, and if I roll it on I may avoid bubbles.....
