Check www.craigslist.com for your area (USA) for some great deals.

I also saw a full 70 gallon setup with filter,heater,stand,hood etc. for $250 on there today.

The problem with craigslist (at least in Boston) is that any half-decent free or cheap stuff is gone within a half hour. I was about 5 minutes late for a nice 30g tank, and minutes to hours late for a ton of other stuff.

It is a great place to look though
