I woke up this morning and looked at my fish and his fins look seperated and frayed at the bottom.. and a little at the top. I dont see any parts of his fins laying around I checked. I have not cleaned his tank yet. I have cleaned it once and done the 50/50 tank changes like I have read about. I was/ am going to clean his tank today but what to I do to fix his fins?

maybe a 1 gal.. its a smaller tank.. its not one of those betta tanks..

How often are you doing the 50/50 change??

IMO - you need to be doing 100% water changes every 3-4 days or so if the tank is smaller than 1gal. It sounds like he's got fin rot. . . ref the pinned threads and treat.

Hope that helps. . . .

Hi thank you for all of the help! I just bought betta fix remedy I have a 1 gal tank so im thinking I need 1/2 teaspoon. it says I need to do this for a week before making a water change.. I have not cleaned my tank yet.. so should I and then add this remedy??

For sure!!

Um. . .I still do water changes even the meds say wait a week. . .but that's up to you. Let me know how it goes and if you need help PM me. :D

My Betta's perked up when I started using Indian Almond Leaves. I think that subject is pinned here too so try searching. I got mine on ebay but you might ask cracker about where to get them. They're good as a preventive and as a treatment. Melafix is supposedly good as a treatment for fin rot but I haven't tried it yet knock on wood. Good luck!

I cleaned out his tank and did a water change he seems to have perked up a bit. But how long will iit take for his fin rot to be gone.. Also has anyone ever seen a very light green betta before and is that normal?
