All good so far however my 2p worth:

1) Will there be a set charges for corals or is it up to the seller?

2) Layout made for the posting of corals by mods? or upto e seller to layout the post?

Thats up to the seller. Many frags vary in price, depending on difficulty, time spent, species etc.

Up to you no dought, just aslog as you include the information in the suggested guidline ie.

Coral type: LPS, SPS, softie
Species:
Size: Large (4-6"; 10-18cms); medium (3-4"; 7-10cms); small (2-3"; 5-7cms); nano sized (<2";<5cms)
Location: (UK, US, etc)
Tank/Age: Aquarium or prop; indicate if your tank is well established

yeah I'd say it's down to the seller if they want to set a price, or if people feel they are doing an equal swap that no money would change hands.

I think we should make sure you include latin name and common name so people are clear what they are getting.

sorry whats a frag ? fragment of something ?? sorry noob here :shifty:

yeah a frag..ment of a coral.

so instead of 5 people going to they're lfs's and getting a coral taken from the ocean a member here who's already got one can 'frag' it to make babies and distribute them around, much cheaper and eases your conscience :good:

Frag = Fragment, as in a fragment off a mother coral. The mother coral is "propagated" much the same way a terrestrial plant is, and the products are called fragments or frags for short.

Any fees should be agreed upon between the two people exchanging the frags, however, what is the definition of swap? I would think that there would be NO charges for the corals, if you are swapping, and any costs between individuals would/should be shipping/handling only, no?

In the US, one method (which I will try and do a post on), is a simple thermos. Buy a $10 plastic small thermos and ship 2-day priority mail. Swappers use the same thermos over and over again. Overnight shipping charges can reach 25-40$ bucks or higher on Fedex; if you keep it small, shipping could be under $10 with USPS.

Will add some more guidelines. On this. SH
