I am detemined once again to do SW, but true to my current FW colours of going for larger, predatory fish, I have now drifted away from reef tanks and plan on a tank for a couple of lionfish and maybe one or two others from the Scorpaenidae family

My main question is, do they require the same sort of flow rate as a normal reef (10x min, 20x aim for, up to 40x depending on how the mood takes you) or do they prefer a little less. I know most of these fish live in and around reefs, but thought I would check...

Cheers

Andy

Well, its been my understanding that if a situation with no corals, alot of the flow is to increase the effectiveness of the LR. So if you feel that you have suffiecent flow with 10-20x that your filtration is up to par, then that should be fine.
