Found An Interesting Looking Tank

While looking for an upgrade on ebay I found this...

Heh, no I'm not going for it. I'd love to build a tank though... man-wife is unsure about the whole, it's made of wood and you have to waterproof it thing.

It does look nice, although the slates could provide nasty hiding areas for smaller fish to crawl in and die and i dont think i would shell out on it as transportation looks like a right nightmare and getting it back together, well, i think you would have to be a dab hand at DIY at least. Plus the chances of a large chunk of slate falling off, smashing the base or front? I dont normally worry about things like that, but i couldnt have it in my house

I know what you mean Tizer, if I were to make one I wouldn't put slate on the walls like that but that doesn't mean it doesn't look nice

there a tank at one of my lfs which is a simlar shape, except its all glass and laying the opposite way to this tank. so the slate wall you see at the back of this tank, would be the floor on the tank at my lfs. and the 'deep end' bit is a bit wider more in proportion to the rest of the tank. looked great.

you can get almost the same looking effect with a nice 3D background made for tanks. I agree, would not risk the slate smashing the glass and flodding my living room. Looks cool though
