Hey everyone.

Found a great new piece of wood. (actually found in the woods as with all my other pieces)
It is HUGE so I may have to break it up a bit but i'm considering drilling into it and starting some plants on it (as I have before in other tanks)
It's pretty dirty at the moment but after a good cleaning/soaking I'll be attempting to fit it into my 55gal, just figured I'd share.

Pictures for you, my friends:

Here it is in my tub, awaiting a good scrubbing. I'll keep you all posted on my exciting journey. hahaha

Better pictures to follow

Either that bath tub is only a few inches deep or that wood is REALLY big????

Lmao. I should have known....

So I'm about 4 hours into this project now and I'll post up some new pics to let you know where I'm headed with it in another few minutes.

Ok, all the pics are taken on my iPhone, sorry if they aren't great.

I've chopped it down so size and really put a good scrubbing to it. I also noticed that the core of it wouldn't be so hard to remove so now there's a decent size hole running down the entire length of it with 4 access points for the fish.

I've still got the finer points of cleaning this thing but it is coming along nicely.

Its dry in the pictures but when it is wet it comes out a much darker brown with some red here and there.

Here it is next to my mbuna 55gal (size reference)

Moved into the fun "let it soak" stage.

here it is, just put in, after a few hours, and then left it over night, last picture is from this morning. Over a span of 12 hours max

Its amazing what just letting it sit in water will do. This is why you have to soak wood before you put it in the tank... lol
