Hi everyone,

I was at the lfs today looking for some oto's for my 55G. I always check the bettas wherever I go. This store keeps them in 1/2G betta homes, and they rarely have more than 3 or 4 at a time. I looked I what do I see? A betta who is just growing his tail back. The girl told me he came to her that way and she has been giving him fresh water daily and supplementing his diet with live foods to help him heal. This store really takes care of their fish. I decided to call him Bumblebee because of his colouring. I am worried about a red dot at the tip of his fin. It looks like blood. I have seen it on my other light coloured betta when I brought him home, and clean water and a pinch of salt cleared it right up, so that is what I am going to do with this guy. I also got him some bettafix to help his tail grow back. I am going to monitor him for infection, but the tail really does look like it is healing. Here are a couple of pics

Please excuse the bubbles, I just finished cleaning and filling his tank

He is very active and seems quite healthy aside from the tail. It was love at first sight  .

Lucky looks great! I hadn't seen any updated pics lately. I am soooo impressed   Well done Lucky! I immediately thought of him when I saw Bumblebee in the store. Believe me I got the death glare from my hubby when I bought him. I blame him though, he brought me home a 3/4G tank yesterday. Of course he wanted it for a hospital tank, but......
I can't help myself, I am hopelessly addicted to bettas.

I now have 6 boys and 10 girls. I must say I think I am done now. Maybe.

He's quite cute. It's obvious he's been pretty well-cared for since the injury. That looks like a very healthy developing tail.

Hey, as long as he keeps bringing tanks home, it's your obligation to fill them up!

;)

I am up to 16 now, too.
I think I should stop now, too.
But then again - I said that back when I had 3 :)

I actually have 8 tanks, and of them 6 have betta's in them. I don't think I will stop. I am about to finish school, I will have 2 diploma's both in business. My long term plan is to open a fish store. Chances are I will rescue as many betta's as I can find, nurse them back to health and re-sell them to responsible owners. I know this will not make me any money, but I will be satisfied knowing I am helping a fish live a happy healthy life. Besides, I will supplement my losses selling tanks to all the lovely people like me that have MTS! :D
