Fish Herder
Hi everyone,
I was at the lfs today looking for some oto's for my 55G. I always check the bettas wherever I go. This store keeps them in 1/2G betta homes, and they rarely have more than 3 or 4 at a time. I looked I what do I see? A betta who is just growing his tail back. The girl told me he came to her that way and she has been giving him fresh water daily and supplementing his diet with live foods to help him heal. This store really takes care of their fish. I decided to call him Bumblebee because of his colouring. I am worried about a red dot at the tip of his fin. It looks like blood. I have seen it on my other light coloured betta when I brought him home, and clean water and a pinch of salt cleared it right up, so that is what I am going to do with this guy. I also got him some bettafix to help his tail grow back. I am going to monitor him for infection, but the tail really does look like it is healing. Here are a couple of pics
Please excuse the bubbles, I just finished cleaning and filling his tank
He is very active and seems quite healthy aside from the tail. It was love at first sight
