Lucky, lucky man having rainbows in your back yard. Of course, we'll be expecting pictures of the ones the mrs let you keep!
I just spent half an hour and got 50 photos of blurry fish shapes. Sorry, will try again at a later point, when they're not as manic.

After some patience and feeding the little darlings, I managed to get a couple of them to stay almost still enough to get not-quite-as-blurry photos.  As you're all probably aware, fish are very difficult photographic subjects, yelling "stop swimming, darn it" at them didn't help either.  So here goes:

I bought three rainbows in December, it seems all of them were sick when I got them. Two have perished, the last one is the one at the bottom of this photo (mainly for size reference). He was about the size of the one top-left when I bought him:

Here's one of the new lads, flaring his fins:

IMAG0421.jpg

And here's another, proudly displaying his crimson spot:

The other six wild-caught are still quite small and have yet to develop their colour, although the edges of their fins are starting to darken up.  More photos one day when I get around to posting my journal.

I bet given enough time they'll colour up nicely.

I gave them a bloodworm feast last night and they're starting to colour already.

Try photographing them first thing in the morning (best when any sunlight is hitting the tank) when the lights first come on, chances are they will still be in snooze mode and not so manic.

It's a 198 meg download but it's going on my kindle right now.

http://rainbowfish.angfaqld.org.au/Book.htm is the page about the book and the download link is just a short scroll down.
