Food?

Yes Omega one products are much better in quality to Topfin. I think the topfin products contains "meal" which is less nutritional than other products like Omega one which have whole fish in.

I have the tropical and kelp flakes but you can get the mini pellets like your link or even Betta pellets
Ok, thanks! I think I will get the Omega One color mini pellets I provided in my link. That way I can feed my neon tetras and betta (who is still very young and has to have crushed up food anyway) the same food. :)

Omega One foods are high quality and you can trust them. As it says in that link,
  • Our Super Color Mini Pellets are naturally insoluble, which reduces water pollution, and they have significantly less starch, which reduces fish waste
  • SUPERIOR QUALITY: No meals, hydrolysates, digests, or any other pre-processed protein
Bold text is mine, but those are the key statements.

Ok, sounds like a good food. I’ll get the Omega One mini pellets next time the pay rolls in.

That way I can feed my neons and betta the same food.

Try to avoid fish foods that have grains in like wheat flour or soy meal. Fish can't digest grains and the manufacturers use them as cheap binders and to add weight.

Think about what the fish eat in the wild. Most freshwater fishes will eat small insects and insect larvae, the odd worm (terrestrial or aquatic), fish, fish eggs, shrimp, shrimp larva, and bits of algae.

Ok, makes sense. I will keep feeding my betta the betta bits I have and refrain from feeding him the blood worms. I will keep this up until I can purchase the Omega One pellets.

I will keep feeding my neon tetras Tetra Tropical Flakes.

I think we nee to be careful about assumptions. Not all fishmeal is bad and when made from whole fish, can be better than fresh fish. Why? Fresh fish may be #1 in the ingredient list by weight, but may include the ice it's packed in!...so when processed and dry, may actually be lower in the ingredient list by weight.
And lets look closely at Omega One (Which I still like, but...)
Freshwater Flakes:
Ingredients:
Salmon, Whole Herring, Wheat Flour, Whole Shrimp, Wheat Gluten, Pea Protein, Herring Oil, Turmeric, Kelp, Garlic Powder, Spirulina, Mixed Tocopherols, Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Marigold Extract, Carmine, Annatto Extract, Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, Inositol, Astaxanthin, Canthaxanthin, Riboflavin, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement
Guaranteed Analysis:
Min. Crude Protein….41%
Min. Crude Fat………12%
Max. Crude Fiber…….2%
Max. Moisture………. 8.5%
Max. Ash……………..8%

Notice that the 1st ingredient is salmon, but not whole salmon, as with whole herring. So the main ingredient is likely the waste after fillets are cut (heads, skin, bone). Then there's wheat flour that appears before whole shrimp and wheat gluten.
Now all flake foods will need some grain/grain starch as a binder and fresh fish (protein) should require less starch than fishmeal. However, fish foods made with quality fishmeal made from whole fish may be every bit as good.
