Are there any household foods that you could feed guppy fry or adult guppies? I don't get a very large allowance (only $3.50) and I'm paying right now for a tank I bought from my brother. I want to know if there are any household foods that I could feed my guppies, guppy fry(when they come :D), and mollies.

Thanks in advance for all your help!!

i know some people make their own, but i don't know how sorry. um i think fish need fish food it's only like 3.00 for some fish food. just add it to your tally for the tank. u can give them supplements like peas (peeled) and grapes but my guppies don't really go for that stuff so. maybe someone else can help u

Anything that you feed your guppies has to be very small because they have tiny mouths. Some people feed them tiny bits of vegetables which is good for them as they eat that in their natural environment. I have heard of trying to grow some algae in a jar by the window, but I haven't done that myself so I don't know how good it works. Something that can work for adults and fry is boiling an egg and crumbling up the yoke (just a little bit each meal). They usually go nuts for it but its not a good idea to use it as the sole diet. Fish food usually isn't that expensive. A medium size can of it goes for just a few dollars and usually lasts about a year.

I'm so sorry!! I meant to say that I had some TetraMin fish food and bloodworms before I asked. Sorry!!

guppies eat fresh vegetables we buy from supermarket? if yes, then what kind of vegetables are suitable for them? (i'm only thinking about giving them vegetables as in some kind of treat, not as main diet) thanks!! ;)

I looked it up on the internet and it said raw spinach and lettuce. There are also a few more but I can't remember them.
