RIght now I've got a tank going with 2 small clown loaches 2 very small cories and 2 small gouramis.

I'm feeding wardley's premium tropical flakes.

I overfeed the gouramis a little to make sure that some flakes make their way to the bottom but not many.

Should I be supplementing with another sort of food. Like a sinking pellet or tubiflex worm cubes?

I like to feed sinking catfish pellets, and cucomber to treat my little guys. I'll sink a pellet everyother day or put a peice of cucomber into the tank once a week just to make sure they are fed.

Not sure if you have them or want them but I also make sure I have snails on hand for my loaches. I have a 5 gallon 'snail tank' I use to keep their numbers up. Drop a few into my community tank and minutes later the yoyo's find them and feast.

Never had a problem with the cory or loaches starving. My oldest Khulis is just under 3 years but I have no idea how long he will last.

Always worth dropping some sinking food into bottom feeders, especially if the "upper storeys" are patrolled by efficient food hoovers! A common trick is to drop the sinking food in a short while after the lights have gone out.

Neither my clowns nor cory's enjoy flakes. I feed them, algae tablets, shrimp pellets, frozen blood worms, tubifex worms, and brine shrimp. If you buy a vegetable clip and put the cube of tubifex in it and push the clip all the way to the bottom of the tank your cories and loaches will be able to get to it.

how big of a tank do you have? Your clowns won't stay small forever. Mine have grown to double their size in the last 3 months.

for the moment the clowns are in a 5g hex. Though in another week or two they'll move into my 46g bow when its completed its fishless cycle. I actually dropped an algae disc in there last night that I usually feed my pleco. ALL the members of the tank went to town on that thing it was like they'd never eaten before when I dropped it in the tank.

Thanks

Yeah mine go absolutely nuts for the algae tablets!

And I am sure all occupants will absolutely love their new tank when its done cycling!

Good Luck with it! :D

I'm not following you on the "vegtable clip" what is that? I'm still kinda concerned that they're not eating like they should.
