I feed mine

Shirakura ebi
JBL novo prawn
Hikari shrimp cuisine
also a small piece of algae wafer
Part boiled carrots
Thin slices of Pear
slice of cucumber
Flake food
Dried blood worm

They are scavengers and will eat almost everything.

Hikari Crab Bites is what I feed all my shrimp everyday. I have Crystal Red's, Yellow Sakura, Pearl, Red Rhino, Cherry and TIger Shrimp and they are all doing very well. THe food helps promote a nice strong shell and they eat it with vigour. No copper.

The copper in food doesn't actually matter. Shrimp may be sensitive to copper, but it is still an essential element required for life. The traces found in foods are not going to harm the shrimp.

Ill give the carrots a shot aswell now.

Yes, that's the one. The shrimp cuisine does contain copper. I know there is a debate on whether or not the copper is harmful to shrimp but I have spoken to a couple of shrimp breeders that have had shrimp die when they were fed the food with copper in it. They have bred shrimp for years and could not find any other reason other than the food for their shrimp suddenly dying. The food may be okay for the average shrimp but when you get into the delicate breeds, they can die from things very easily. I had a hard time with my crystal red's staying alive until I switched to the crab cuisine. Now that I switched, they are breeding. Again, there is no concrete proof but I didn't want to take any chances.

I don't feed my shrimp, never have. They are scavengers by nature, they will also help themselves to algae if you have any. I would personally just leave them to there own devices and they'll do well, picking up any left over food particles.

Id love to do that but its a shrimp tank that has no algae. Im sure they would starve to death.

I have never fed my ammano shrimp in my main tank thou. Had them a while and they have gone big.

All shrimp need some form of Copper, Ionic Copper is detrimental to their health, the Copper in shrimp food will be in salt form.
