I have the Fluval205 and the tank has been getting really dirty recently. I came to do a water change and thought I would just touch the hoses going into the external filter to see if I could feel and check the air flow. My questions are
a) when I felt the IN hose I couldnt feel anything (in comparison to a slight vibration on the OUT hose) am I supposed to be able to feel anything?
b) when I came to loosen the IN hose a little bit to see if that would help the hose nut is extremely tight and difficult to turn
c) the IN hose nut is sitting with at least 3 threads visible, is this ok?

Hopefully someone can help!

The inlet to the pump works on the syphon effect, as water is pumped out water is drawn in so there usually won't be vibration at this end although the same vibration should be felt all over. The nuts on my 205 aren't that tight. Just tighten it up and see if you can pull the rubber ends off. Doesn't need a lot of force to jeep the hoses on.
