What are your guys opinion on the Fluval Flex 15g? It’s a beautiful tank with an awesome filter system and light, but is it really worth it?

I am looking at one on Craigslist for only $60, which is a pretty good price for one.

The reason why I’m asking, is because most other tanks cost around $60 fully setup. Is this tank worth the extra $$?

Depends on you.

You could probably get a regular 15g cheaper, but designer tanks will be different priced accordingly. If YOU like the design of the shape, $60 is worth it for these tanks that normally run over $120.

So if you want to splurge a bit on something for the style, the fluval flex tanks are nice tanks...
Or if you are practical, you could probably spend the same price on a larger tank.

That was my thought process as well... I mean, would I love to have a 75g tank? YES! Would my parents allow me to have it? Probably not, and do I have room? No...

The Flex is an awesome tank and I’ve always wanted it, but the price was always an issue... $60 is a marvelous price.

I know if I want to get it, my dad will throw the old, “Are you really getting yourself stuff this close to Christmas?” ? (But he doesn’t get how fast cheap aquarium stuff sells for)

The only other tank I could probably get, that would fit in my room, would have to be a 10g tank. I don’t even have room on my desk for a 15g. (Regular tank. The Flex would fit perfectly)

Anyone else have an opinion?

Then it sounds like for you, the flex would be a nice treat for yourself at that price, size for your space, and for something a bit nice.

My LFS has a wall of Fluval Flex 9 gal. tanks. I always find it inconvenient that the light is attached to the lid making the tank dark when you have to open it.

That is an issue, but it’s in most tanks these days.

I loveeee my 10g and 29g tank so much because they have no lid and the lights are desk lights, so it gives me a lot of room to work on the tank.

To deal with your dad's Xmas comment, you can always slap a bow on the tank and put it under the tree for yourself :D that way it wasn't you spending money, it was Santa!
