Looking for some advice if anyone can help
as some may remember i recently made the switch to externals.
I bought 1 brand new Fluval 405 and then further 2nd hand one off a mate, only 6 months old complete with media,,
both have been running perfect side by side in the same tank for the last couple of months
well just got home tonight and noticed the 2nd hand one seems to be kicking lots of bubbles, although i would say white specks/bits aswell kinda hard to tell, either way its lots. enough to completely cover the tank in it constantly
when i first got it, gave it a major clean in old tank water,
it was obvious media was old and used, had 2 trays with the black media and 2 with the white media, plus the long foam media, the same as it comes when bought new,
i just took the whole thing apart gave it a good clean again in old tank water and re started it again, and still seems to be doing the same
half of me is thinking, seems like the media is old and needs replacing, and seems like its firing loads of small piece's off it out,, would this be the case with old worn media?
or is it just a case of lots of bubbles,, as it seems like every 10 seconds the filter is firing a mass of bubbles out from the outtake, and i can hear the pump making more noise, like air trapped and kicking it all out
