my friend at work has a fluval 205 external filter that he says is not sucking in water therefore not working as a filter, he was given it as part of a mature tank setup he bought about a year ago. as its not working he wants to know if there is anywhere he can take it to get it fixed. he is running an internal filter for the moment but would like to get his external fixed. .... any ideas. where to get it fixed. he will post it away or whatever?

Can you find out exactly what it is doing? Is there any noise? Any flow what so ever? Is it in warranty? Any leaks from anywhere? Is it priming properly? e.t.c. basically, get as much information on it as you can :good:

As for sending it off, unless it's still under Warranty, you don't have that option, unless his LFS is obliging in doing fault finding on other people's equipment, that they don't actually need to be doing (some will, most won't)... If he can't give enough info to have it fixed via a forum, you, or someone that knows what they are doing with these externals, will have to go and look at it for him to work out what's wrong.
