Would the new Fluval Edge tank be suitable as a fry tank?

Ive two tanks of 90 Ltr and 125 Ltr housing Dwarf Neon Gourami's, Boesmani Rainbows, Balloon and Orange Mollies, black Phantom Tetra and Sterbai Cory's.

Despite the love-it/hate-it reviews I've read from fishkeepers I do Love the design of the tank. Tho I appreciate it's only suitable for certain small fish / inverts.

my plan would be to keep a few shrimp and maybe a shoal of galaxy rasboro's then introduce fry before moving them on once a bit bigger.

Could anybody advise if this tank would be suitable for the above?

Thanks

Fine for rasbora and shrimp. Good luck getting the fry out again once in though, access is rather limited, making catching anything in the tank hard. Also, the filter intake will need covering if you are putting in smaller fry, or they will become mince...

I'd not thought of that. Think I need to head down to the LFS and see the filter in operation in which case!

Wasnt planning on removing them from the tank til they'd reach an inch and I can re-home.

Thanks for the tip

:good:

My friend has one, it's awesome, he keeps a lone male betta in there and he loves it

Is it possible to run a heater into it? Guessing it only requires a low wattage to heat 23 Ltrs

yes i have a small 25w heater in mine and it's easily hidden, heres a couple of photos of mine so you can see it with a heater in it.

Thanks for the pics. The heater is hardly noticeable and that was my last concern in what is a pretty small tank
Ive now ordered it on net for £30 under RRP so I'm happy :D

lovely lookin Betta too!

Hi,

I have a heater in mine. You have to be careful about the size of heater, bit Fluval are bringing one out for this tank- I think sometime this year.
