Hi all, I read with interest earlier posts concerning failure of Fluval Edge lighting units. The type I have is the one with 2 lamp units .Mine has also just failed.I have been disappointed with the quality of the supplied lamps and have been trying different lamps. I fitted 20w halogen dichroic GU4 lamps today and about an hour later the lighting failed altogether.I dont know wether or not this was due to the lamps used or it was coincidence. Does anybody know who I can contact at Fluval to resolve this apparently common lamp unit failure. Thanks in advance. greenbeemer

I had an Edge & had no problems, but the halogen bulbs were awful so I swapped to Led ones, you may have used too high a wattage bulbs that caused the failure
There is a forum for the edge where you might get some help.
I forget the addy but google & you'll find it

thanks for that, cazgar. didnt realize there would be specialist forum sites for the edge. greenbeemer

Mine came with the LED's fitted with the moon light option as well no problems up to now as well but my daughter has the old type with the halogens and the light is dire on that one, you can buy the LED fitting seperatly and I would look into that option to me they are far better.

thanks, ghettofarmulous. have emailed Hagen today. Fingers crossed!

I had Hagen replace my light unit 15 times before i left them a screwey message that they never bothered replying to (this was alongside replacing my Glo Reptile light unit 5 times!).

Now i would cut my losses and by the newest LED light unit, not with the LED bulbs as the problem is with the fact that the tanks create a lot of condensation and the light units arent sealed for it! The newer light unit can be bought seperately i think? Id try my luck asking Hagen for one as you are a very disgruntled customer but failing that, a Hagen stockist ought to be able to get one in for ya.

Its the one fault of the Fluval Edges (not had any problems with the new led bar!) but tbh it doesnt matter how many times you get it replace

There are also lots of modifications you can make for the light unit if you feel brave! Just google "DIY fluval edge LEDs"

It all depends on how much you like the tank, personally i was determined to make hagen do something so they kept replacing it (i moved house and sold the tank just weeks before the led bulbs came out!). I really liked the tank and would still buy the 46L one again.
